I have started a new project, which is to create my own stock for my MFR, and a new grip for my Walther pistol. Well seeing as I am not very good with my hands in the creative sense, but I am good with engineering and building stuff. I have decided to create a stock duplicator, this will allow me to copy my MFR stock in some cheap wood, then apply wood filler to shape out how I want the stock to look. Then I can put the shaped stock back into the duplicator and use it as a template to copy one into some nicer wood, such as black walnut.
For those of you that don't know what one of these is, here is a link to one that I am going to use as a guide http://www.wood-carver.com/moregunstock.html
My total budget for this project is going to be £150 or there abouts, I have already ordered some parts, these are the side rails, and the horizontal rail.
I have also got on order some pulleys and belt which will allow me to join 2 brackets together to turn the stocks in sync with each other.
Once I have the basic frame put together I will post a video up so you can see how it is going.
